Notre Dame football is going Mikey from “Swingers” on 5-star defensive tackle Matt Elam. They’re not the only ones. This is the same Matt Elam that received 182 letter earlier this year from the Kentucky Wildcats.
Again, this is why you need to read my essay from Saturday morning, which I republished on Monday morning about how recruiting is insanely out of control. Notre Dame football is doing something stalkerish to this kid like what Heather Graham’s character received.
Notre Dame football is far from the only program in either college sport guilty of this. Remember Kelvin Sampson and all the phone calls he placed while leading the Indiana Hoosiers? “Mr. Telephone Man, there’s something wrong with my line. When I dial my baby’s number I get a click every time.”
Elam, the 6-foot-5, 360-pound player who has a top three of Notre Dame, UK and Alabama, tweeted out the picture of the stack of Irish letters, writing, “262 Letters Yes You Read Correctly 262 Letters From Notre Dame!! They Are Calling It My #PotofGold #WorldRecord #ND.”
Here’s the tweet photo of all the letters from Notre Dame football
