Former Cubs Pitcher, and MLB Hall of Famer, Fergie Jenkins will be getting a stamp in his honor from his native Canada. It was announced on his 68th birthday, December 13th by the Canadian Post Office.

Jenkins was born in Chatham, Ontario, Canada in 1942, and went to high school at Vocational, in Chatham. He was originally signed as a free agent by Philadelphia in 1962. He was traded to the Cubs in April of 1966.

In 9 years with the Cubs he would win 161 games, including at least 20 wins in a year for six years in a row. In all he would win 284 major league games over 19 seasons.

The stamp would show a young Fergie on the pitcher’s mound with the Cubs, set behind a modern photo of Jenkins at his Order of Canada ceremony in 2007.
