Fox Sports Analyst Randy Moss presented a challenge to the St. Louis Rams players who made the ‘hands up’ gesture in protest of a grand jury’s decision in Ferguson not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown. Randy Moss puts it out there: actions matter much more than gestures. True activism is what an individual does when no one is looking. It’s about being productive and contributing; not commanding attention.
Randy Moss on FOX NFL Sunday:
“The gesture was a good thing for them to do. For me, playing in the National Football League for 15 years, one thing I made an effort to do was to get out in the community. I want to see what happens next. Are those players going to go out in St. Louis, reach out to Ferguson, MO and really give some help?
“That’s where we mess up as players sometimes when we do something just for one time and then forget about the rest of the situation. I’m looking for the St. Louis Rams, coach Jeff Fisher, the organization and the police group in Missouri to team up because this is something big that our country really needs to go ahead and tackle.”
