This may come as surprising news to you, but ‘Carbomb’ has more than worn out his welcome. His latest antics cost him six games. For some reason, the left winger decided cross-checking a defenseless Mathieu Perreault was necessary. The Winnipeg Jet suffered an upper body injury because of the check.

Final 2012 Mock NHL Entry Draft

 

While the Los Angeles Kings, and their millions of fans who just jumped on the bandwagon, celebrate the team’s first Stanley Cup championship, the other 29 teams in the league are gearing up for next season.  The top priority of these teams:  the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.  The draft takes place June 22 and 23 from Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA.  With the Edmonton Oilers winning the draft lottery, they will select the first pick for the third straight year, the first time since the Quebec Nordiques of 1989-91.  Who will the Oilers take? Blackhawks trade John Scott to Rangers; acquire Oduya in separate deal from Jets

In a last second before the 2012 NHL Trade Deadline deal, the Blackhawks sent their main protector, defenseman John Scott to the New York Rangers. TSN reports the Blackhawks received a fifth-round pick in exchange for Scott. Getting rid of Scott leaves the Hawks without a true “enforcer” to retaliate against the hits that will be made against Hawks star forwards Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp, and Patrick Kane.

It also negates deal made earlier in the day in terms of upgrading their defensemen depth.
