Kevin Love and Kevin Durant put up MONSTER numbers in T’Wolves-Thunder game
Stat line of the night goes to Kevin Love‘s 51 pts, 14 rebs, narrowly edging out Kevin Durant’s 40 pts, 17 rebs and Russell Westbrook’s 45. The Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 149-140 in 2 OT.
We’re going to see Kevin Love and Kevin Durant putting up MONSTER numbers like these for years. The two young bigs are going to dominate Western Conference opponents, bringing intrigue to T’Wolves-Thunder match-ups for years to come.

Remember Britney Spears‘ breakthrough hit from the spring of ’99 “Hit me baby one more time?” Of course you do, it was the music video that reintroduced an entire generation of men to the schoolgirl fetish/Lolita complex. The strip club industry should be thankful that the song was so big during an era in which MTV still played music; cuz the song/theme has been a nudey bar staple ever since.
And now the song gets worked by the Minnesota Timberwolves karaoke style.
A few quick notes before you watch the NBA players “fun bad” video.

The Minnesota Timberwolves haven’t given their fans much to smile about over the years, and the NBA itself isn’t really a primary inspiration for laughter.

Watch this video- wow! Talk about a Tim Hardaway, Allen Iverson “killer crossover.” Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder faked the Minnesota Timberwolves Luke Ridnour literally out of his shoes. This is ridiculous, the only way Ridnour could be more faked out is if he were lying on the ground, curled up in the fetal position sucking on his thumb.
The announcer said Westbrook “broke his ankles!” Well, Ridnour is the third string point guard on one of the worst teams in the NBA for a reason. And Westbrook is the second star on the Western Conference favorites for a reason.
You’ll want to watch this a few times!

Not much has gone right for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the last twenty plus years.
They had a brief flirtation with success during the Flip Saunders and Kevin Garnett years, but the well has been almost completely dry otherwise. The frustration was palpable this spring when general manager David Kahn went over the edge expressing his concerns with the NBA lottery.
The Cleveland Cavaliers garnered the top pick this season and Kahn insinuated that the result was due to anything but the randomness of the ping pong balls. The team will presumably pick up forward Derrick Williams from the Arizona Wildcats after the Cavaliers take Kyrie Irving from Duke. This is not horrible news because the experts do believe that the two at the top of the draft have a large separation from the rest of the field.

As you know by now, the Cleveland Cavaliers won the first overall pick in the NBA Draft lottery last night, meaning the Minnesota Timberwolves will pick second. This immediately prompted rumors that the T’Wolves are looking to deal their #2 overall draft choice.
Unfortunately for Minnesota fans, it also means general manager David Kahn is in charge of making the deal.
Kahn has been one of our favorite re-occurring targets over years. (Linking to all of our critical articles would take too long; but here’s one, and here’s another). And last night Kahn said he knew Minnesota was “dead” when it got down to the final three remaining in the top three spots: himself, Utah’s Kevin O’Connor and Cleveland’s Nick Gilbert.

The 2010-11 Minnesota Timberwolves season was a struggle. But what went wrong?
In a word, everything, but that would be too easy.
Kevin Love’s 53 game double-double streak overshadowed what was a season full of over blown expectations and vast under achievement.

Follow paulmbanksWebster’s Return Has Enhanced the Play of Young Wolves Squad
Many fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves scratched their heads when the Wolves made the June 24th draft day trade of sending forward Ryan Gomes and the rights to Luke Babbitt to Portland in exchange for wing Martell Webster.
In his five seasons in Portland, Webster averaged just over 8 points per game, and an injury plagued 2008-09 campaign allowed Webster to only play in five minutes that season.
Webster had a very solid preseason in which he averaged 12.3 points in 26.7 minutes per game. Although comparing preseason stats with regular season success would be like comparing Degrassi to One Tree Hill, his preseason numbers did show the possibility of Webster being a consistent contributor to this young Timberwolves team.
