Big Ten Football 2011 Power Rankings: Preconference Edition

September 13, 2011 By paulmbanks

michigan-wolverines-devin-funchess

One of the main storylines in the Big Ten entering this college football season was all the dual threat quarterbacks. Well so far, I'd say it's really only Wisconsin's Russell Wilson and Nathan Scheelhaase who fit that bill. Michigan's Denard Robinson did throw for over 330 yards and 4 TDs, but he is an average thrower at best. He made some really poor throws in that Notre … [Read more...] about Big Ten Football 2011 Power Rankings: Preconference Edition

Big 10 Football Season Predictions and Projections

September 3, 2011 By paulmbanks

There's four good teams in the Big Ten this season and five more that could be good or just blah. You can call it parity (just don't call it PARODY, I HATE when people make that mistake, it isn't Weird Al Yankovic playing college football here) or you can call it mediocrity. Expect a lot of conference teams to be ranked in the 30s and 20s overall in the nation. On the … [Read more...] about Big 10 Football Season Predictions and Projections

Nebraska’s Jared Crick: Best NFL Talent in Big 10, Not the Next Suh

August 23, 2011 By paulmbanks

Jared Crick has really torn up opposing offenses in his three years with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Ndamukong Suh's alma mater. Crick is a dominating player in his own right; but he's not like Suh. Detroit Lions DL Ndamukong Suh was fined $20,000 by the NFL last Wednesday for a hit on Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton. Infractions aside, Suh is a beast among beasts, and the … [Read more...] about Nebraska’s Jared Crick: Best NFL Talent in Big 10, Not the Next Suh

Next Ndamukong Suh: Michigan Wolverines Mike Martin? Possibly?

August 17, 2011 By paulmbanks

Detroit Lions DL Ndamukong Suh was fined $20,000 by the NFL Wednesday for a hit on Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton, Suh's third fine of this sort in the past year. He was obviously upset, tweeting before practice: "$20,000REALLY???!!!!!!… #NFL #BIGFAIL" The reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year grabbed the Bengals rookie ginger-haired quarterback after he released the … [Read more...] about Next Ndamukong Suh: Michigan Wolverines Mike Martin? Bubba Starling Snubs Nebraska Cornhuskers; Picks Kansas City Royals

August 16, 2011 By paulmbanks

New Nebraska Cornhuskers QB Bubba Starling has a million dollar question to answer. Actually, it's a $10 million question. Because Starling is also the 5th overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft, by the Kansas City Royals franchise. It looks like it's going to come down to the wire tonight. Much like last year, with MLB #1 overall pick Bryce Harper, we should probably see a … [Read more...] about Bubba Starling Snubs Nebraska Cornhuskers; Picks Kansas City Royals

With Nebraska Cornhuskers in Big 10, All “NU” Rivalry with Northwestern Developing?

August 12, 2011 By paulmbanks

There's a new college football team which simply has a "N" on it's helmet in the Big Ten this year. This year, the addition of the Nebraska Cornhuskers means we have a new NU in the league. Contrary to popular practice/belief, the Northwestern Wildcats are NU, not NWU or NW as you'll sometimes hear/see on ESPN. The school chant is "Go U, NU!" The Cats and Cornhuskers haven't … [Read more...] about With Nebraska Cornhuskers in Big 10, All “NU” Rivalry with Northwestern Developing?

NBA Lockout Continues, Former Nebraska Cornhusker Forms Community Basketball League

August 10, 2011 By paulmbanks

The official word from the NBA: During the lockout, players will not receive their salaries; teams will not negotiate, sign or trade player contracts; players will not be able to use team facilities for any purpose; and teams will not conduct or facilitate any summer camps, exhibitions, … [Read more...] about NBA Lockout Continues, Former Nebraska Cornhusker Forms Community Basketball League

#29 Penn State Nittany Lions: College Football 77 in 77

August 7, 2011 By paulmbanks

Every year at Big Ten media days, JoePa on dais is one of the biggest highlights. There is always the token ghoulish question about his health/age. It happened again this year. He has a good time with reporters on it. And I'm not sure how much of his confused old man bit is contrived and how much of it is genuine. -JoePa when asked about his contract: "Is this the last … [Read more...] about #29 Penn State Nittany Lions: College Football 77 in 77
