NBA Finals: My NBA Finals Christmas List

June 12, 2012 By paulmbanks

OKC v. Miami

With the NBA Finals tipping-off in a little over seven hours, I have made a list of 10 things that I am hoping to see from the Finals this year. I know making a list sounds silly and I probably won't get half of what I put on my list (happens to me every Christmas). But here is a short story: Two years ago, I made a Christmas list of 10 things, roughly, that I wanted. Some of … [Read more...] about NBA Finals: My NBA Finals Christmas List

Optimism actually surrounds Minnesota Timberwolves this off-season

May 21, 2012 By Bill Burke

40 games into the 2011-2012 NBA season and the Minnesota Timberwolves were actually competing for a Western Conference playoff spot.  An injury to Ricky Rubio derailed the T-Wolves surprising start to the season but proved that there is reason for optimism in Minnesota and that the team doesn't need to make any drastic moves this off-season.  Still, a few upgrades could help … [Read more...] about Optimism actually surrounds Minnesota Timberwolves this off-season

NBA Playoffs: Garnett Gives A “Throwback” Performance

May 11, 2012 By paulmbanks

Kevin Garnett

For a second I thought I was watching Kevin Garnett, the MVP back when he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Last night, Garnett put on of the best playoff performances and did something no Boston Celtic has ever done in their rich history. … [Read more...] about NBA Playoffs: Garnett Gives A “Throwback” Performance

UCLA Basketball: Back on the Map? You Bet!

April 24, 2012 By paulmbanks

UCLA football

UCLA Bruins head coach Ben Howland has had a disappointing past few seasons. The Reeves Nelson-saga really wore-on the UCLA program and brought the program down. It seems like the dark days are behind the Bruins and Howland, though. Thanks to a great recruiting class for the upcoming season, the Bruins are poised to make a PAC-12 title run and a run at a national championship. … [Read more...] about UCLA Basketball: Back on the Map? Kevin Love suffers mild concussion

April 12, 2012 By paulmbanks

Kevin Love

Minnesota sports suffer, yet another, serious injury to a superstar. According to sources, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love needed help leaving the floor Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets after suffering a blow to the head by JaVale McGee and a mild concussion. I wouldn't be surprised if Love is out for the rest of the season. … [Read more...] about Kevin Love suffers mild concussion

Best player in NBA position by position: Dwight, Love, Lebron, Kobe, Deron

March 25, 2012 By paulmbanks

One of the greatest things about basketball is how simple the positions are: 1-5. Instead of saying "power forward" or "point guard" you can just say "the four" or "at the one." And this is what's lacking in both the All-NBA team and the USA Olympic Dream Team. The All-NBA selections are the top five players in the league, regardless of position. The '09-'10 team lacked a four … [Read more...] about Best player in NBA position by position: Dwight, Love, Lebron, Kobe, Deron

Minnesota Timberwolves Kevin Love Boat (parody video)

March 16, 2012 By paulmbanks

The Minnesota Timberwolves haven't given their fans much to smile about over the years, and the NBA itself isn't really a primary inspiration for laughter. The Minnesota Timbertrolls, the folks behind such wonderful Minnesota Timberwolves-based parodies: … [Read more...] about Minnesota Timberwolves Kevin Love Boat (parody video)
