The 2014 World Series may not get the highest ratings, but it will be the most eventful. Sure, there are no Yankees, Red Sox, or Dodgers, but there are the Cinderella story Royals and dynasty-craved Giants.

Not only is Ned Yost undefeated in his first playoff appearance with a Royals team that hadn’t been here since 1985, but on the other side Bruce Bochy looks to cement himself in the Hall of Fame by becoming the 10th head coach to win three World Series.

White Sox A.J. Pierzynski PED Suspension Rumors

Rumors began to swirl on Chicago talk radio and in social media yesterday, that Chicago White Sox catcher, A.J. Pierzynski tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and would begin serving a 50-game suspension immediately, essentially being lost for the season.  With the White Sox clinging to a one-game lead over the Detroit Tigers, losing the veteran catcher for the season would be disastrous.

Alex Morgan Throws out 1st Pitch at Kansas City Royals Game

The AL Central race has long been over. And the Kansas City Royals season has pretty much been over since May (what else is new?), but tonight’s MLB contest between the Royals and the Chicago White Sox did have one thing going for it, which was actually very nice.

U.S. Women’s soccer star and media darling Alex Morgan threw out the first pitch.

Bubba Starling Snubs Nebraska Cornhuskers; Picks Kansas City Royals

New Nebraska Cornhuskers QB Bubba Starling has a million dollar question to answer. Actually, it’s a $10 million question. Because Starling is also the 5th overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft, by the Kansas City Royals franchise.

It looks like it’s going to come down to the wire tonight. Much like last year, with MLB #1 overall pick Bryce Harper, we should probably see a finalized deal at midnight.

According to the Kansas City Star, Starling and the Royals are about $2.5 million away from sealing it.

Offseason Grading: The Kansas City Royals

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be going through the offseason moves in the AL and NL Central.  Day one (today), we’ll start with the easiest team to grade: The Kansas City Royals.

The best thing about grading the Royals? It doesn’t really matter what we give them, they will probably take last place in the AL Central. Let’s look at what they did:

With up to 50 rounds adding up to 1,600 picks, most of which either don’t sign or won’t be seen for three to four years, the MLB Draft doesn’t hold the same attention grabbing star power as its NFL and NBA counter parts.

But that doesn’t mean MLB Mock Drafts aren’t still fun to discuss and debate, especially with the draft only a few weeks away.
