Notre Dame’s Dayne Crist, Michael Floyd Make Maxwell List

July 6, 2011 By paulmbanks

Wide Receiver Michael Floyd is still in that Notre Dame University limbo/purgatory. He's not yet re-instated, but he'll likely play. If he is allowed to come back, he'll probably comprise a really exciting, high scoring combination with quarterback Dayne Crist. That is if Crist starts. Both members of the Fighting Irish are looking at uncertain roles this college football … [Read more...] about Notre Dame’s Dayne Crist, Michael Floyd Make Maxwell List

Notre Dame Quarterback Derby will Be Intriguing this Summer

April 22, 2011 By paulmbanks

During one of his banner seasons leading the Cincinnati Bearcats, current Notre Dame Coach Brian Kelly played two QBs. This fall in South Bend, it could happen again. Maybe. Dayne Crist is the projected starter, with Tommy Rees number two as of today, but the depth chart isn't set in stone, or anything like that, as of now. "We'll have to obviously cut back and hone in … [Read more...] about Notre Dame Quarterback Derby will Be Intriguing this Summer

The South Bend, Indiana weather didn't exactly cooperate with Notre Dame today. Wind, rain and cold greeted the 82nd-Annual Blue-Gold Game, won by the Gold 17-14. The spring college football intra-squad game was broadcast live nationally on Versus. It drew 27,863 to Notre Dame Stadium. Not bad for the abysmal weather conditions. ND typically draws at least 20,000 and this … [Read more...] about Notre Dame Spring Game Observations/Summary

Brian Kelly vows to Shave his Head if Notre Dame wins BCS Game

April 14, 2011 By paulmbanks

On his radio show last night from Legends of Notre Dame, Coach Brian Kelly said that he will shave his head should the Fighting Irish win a BCS game this year. He mistakenly first said "shave his head off," and then corrected himself "shave my hair off," before adding "that would hurt, wouldn't it?" This is to show solidarity for cancer patients and to raise money for St. … [Read more...] about Brian Kelly vows to Shave his Head if Notre Dame wins BCS Game

Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees living the “dream”

November 17, 2010 By paulmbanks

Most of the luster has faded and the invincibility is gone, but for many young men, playing football at Notre Dame is still a dream. Stepping on the to field at 18-years-old, masterfully engineering the game plan and leading the Irish to its first defeat of a ranked team in four years is a whole different thought. And that is exactly what freshman and Lake Forest, IL native … [Read more...] about Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees living the “dream”

Notre Dame QB Dayne Crist Out for Season, Patella Tendon Rupture

October 30, 2010 By paulmbanks

The injury bug has certainly been biting Notre Dame this season. And today it bit starting quarterback Dayne Crist again. Last week, in a loss to Navy, ND was without their top three weapons on offense: Theo Riddick, Kyle Rudolph and Michael Floyd. This week they lost Crist, their starting QB, early in their home game versus Tulsa. He's out for the season with a ruptured … [Read more...] about Notre Dame QB Dayne Crist Out for Season, Patella Tendon Rupture

Notre Dame QB Dayne Crist Progressing Rapidly

October 10, 2010 By paulmbanks

In the shadow of Touchdown Jesus at Notre Dame Stadium a savior named Crist is possibly emerging. Remember his name is Crist not Christ, so don't expect miracles right away. But Notre Dame junior QB Dayne Crist is putting up numbers that have been much better than anyone would expect given his lack of prior experience. He's made only six career starts, all this season, and for … [Read more...] about Notre Dame QB Dayne Crist Progressing Rapidly
