2013 NFL Season Predictions: Super Bowl Champion Bengals!

bengals

Making predictions for the Super Bowl on February 2nd today on August 27th. Yes, you got to love it. That’s why I’m all about the Cincinnati Bengals as your Super Bowl champion. When you make NFL divisional and Wild Card picks before even the 4th preseason game…well that’s bold.

Look for these to be about as accurate as my NFL mock draft. So don’t take this with a grain of salt. How about a whole truckload of salt. Well, time is a wasting so let’s jump right to the predictions.

Chicago Bears DE Corey Wootton is indeed becoming the Coreysaurus

wootton

Chicago Bears defensive end Corey Wootton is starting to grow into the nickname he’s always had.

“They call me Coreysaurus, cuz of my height and long neck,” Wootton told me in an exclusive during his days at Northwestern. In 2012, the 6’8″ and lanky Corey Wootton started to play like that ferocious dinosaur nickname on the professional level.

In Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans, Wootton scored his first career touchdown off a blocked punt, which had been blocked by former Northwestern teammate Sherrick McManis.

Former Bears coach Ron Turner apologizes for players’ PUBLIC NUDITY

ron-turner

What a weird week for former leaders of the Illinois Fighting Illini program. We found out on Monday Ron Zook now works at a small bank in Florida.

And now Ron Turner is apologizing for the public nudity of his Florida International University college football players.  Yes, it was very difficult to not commit the typo of “pubic” in place of “public” when you put the word next to “nudity.”

Mistake happens all the time. Just like when you disrobe in public. FIU coach Ron Turner is apologizing on behalf of some players who used a public outdoor shower after a beach workout Friday and got naked for the people of Florida to see.

chicago_sports

Talk about wearing your Chicago sports heart on your sleeve. Or at least on your arm. This crazy Chicago sports fan has had some permanent ink done He’ll have this tattoo when he (or she, we don’t know for sure) is 90 years old. It’s a composite of a Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks logo, borrowing elements from each insignia.

Sorry, Chicago Cubs, this must be a Southsider. And the Chicago Fire, Wolves, Sky and Red Stars. Unfortunately you’re left out too. What a Chicago sports fan huh?

Too bad this person is not a Cubs fan, he’d be a prime candidate for this new Cubs marketing campaign highlighting the craziest of Cubs fans.

Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers: Brutally Honest Preview

If the 185th installment of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears works out like it usually does, it should be a great game for NFL Network to kick off their 2012 Thursday Night Football extravaganza.

The Bears (1-0) own the all-time edge by six games in the NFL’s oldest and most historic rivalry, but it’s the Packers (0-1) who have won six of the last seven.

#41 Baylor Bears: College Football 77 in 77

hot_cheerleader

For the Baylor Bears, the RG3 party is over now. All the fun refreshments have been served, and now the check has come due. Time to pay up with going back to mediocrity. Well, they could be a little better than mediocre, but this won’t be anything like the excitement of last season. Very few schools ever experience a Heisman trophy winner and #2 pick in the NFL Draft storybook season, so 2012 won’t be much like 2011.

But I sincerely hope they retain that awesome paint finish on their helmets from the bowl game. I forgot what that’s specifically called, but you know what I mean. It was really cool.

Mike Martz Resigns from Chicago Bears, GM Angelo Fired

martz

Mike Martz resigned from the Chicago Bears today; more like he was forced out.  Martz often himself in trouble for ultra pass-heavy schemes that left the quarterback vulnerable.

Not a good idea when the Bears just acquired Jay Cutler, giving the franchise it’s first real signal caller since Sid Luckman. In both years Cutler and Martz worked together there was friction and trouble.
