Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” presented his “New Rules for Real Sports” in the closing segment of the Tuesday, Feb. 24 edition of “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.” That previous sentence might have set a new world’s record for use of the word “real” density.

Bill Maher pointed out how the league is extremely hypocritical in regards to their relationship with Anheiser-Busch. The league says they are trying to fix the problem of domestic violence, yet here they are in bed with the controlled substance most likely to inspire domestic abuse.
The full YouTube is below, but here are some of the better excerpts from the Bill Maher rant:
“Beer is responsible for more violence against women than the taliban.”
“more than any other substance it’s alcohol that makes people do crazy things, and it’s a factor in up to half of all domestic violence cases.”
“once again the NFL is testing prohibiting the wrong substances”
“Pot actually makes you less likely to commit domestic violence. Maybe that’s why they don’t want pot in the NFL because it’s a drug that doesn’t make you violent. And using it is certainly not cheating. The only sport where you’d have an unfair advantage is a hot dog eating contest:
The Bill Maher segment above debuts a new programming segment of Real Sports. The segment will feature comedy from within the HBO entertainment family. Running periodically for the 2015 season only, each three-to-four minute segment will be delivered by a different comedy star from the HBO family and will close each show with a personal, unfiltered take on some element of sports.
