With “The Decision” only a few hours away, two sources from UsMagazine.com report that LeBron James has rented out six cabanas at the W Hotel in South Beach to celebrate his decision this weekend. This rumor adds credibility to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, who confirmed this morning that LeBron is leaning towards joining Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.
If there is one thing more annoying than the World Cup’s vuvuzelas, it has to be the way the media connects LeBron’s every move with a place he might go. There has been more gossip than even TMZ could handle. Everything he does is put underneath a microscope. When July 1 hit, he decided to have teams meet him in Akron to discuss free agency. This led us to believe he might be staying with the Cavaliers. Just yesterday, he decided to switch “The Decision” from Akron, Ohio to Greenwich, Connecticut, which is less than 20 miles away from NYC. Does this now mean he will sign with the Knicks?

Even his friends are getting in on the discussion. Some of them think that he should stay away from Miami, because he won’t get enough of the limelight. Some think he should stay in Cleveland, because it’s his hometown. Some are even saying he should go to Chicago.
No one knows where LeBron will go, except for the King himself. To speculate is just irrelevant. Having said all of that, the fact that he booked a party in Miami is the first objective evidence we have of him possibly picking a team.
Who knows, maybe he is just doing all of this just to see how bad the city Cleveland really wants him. Maybe he is just doing all of this to get attention. It’s working, isn’t it?
