If you’re a hard core sports fan you’ve no doubt learned by now to go to Stub Hub or Ebay or somewhere in the secondary market to avoid buying directly from the teams themselves. Tickets are always way too expensive on the team’s official websites. Then there’s the silly package deals they try to force on you, in order to buy tickets to the big games that most people are interested in.
The Chicago Bulls are no doubt as bad as it gets when it comes to price gouging; as they have three pricing tiers for the nose bleed sections for “Premier Games.” The 300 level at the United Center, great for hockey, HORRIBLE for basketball, offers $80, $90 and $100 for the top choice games. Yes, $100 to sit in the freaking nose bleeds! For a regular season NBA game.
Well, things have obviously changed now since Derrick Rose got injured.
December 5th versus the Miami Heat, is obviously a premier game. And as such it’s $230-$300 face value to sit in the lower bowl. Yes, all seats downstairs are Chicago Bears level in price. On Stub Hub, Chicago Bulls tickets for this game have not dropped yet. They’re still sky high, and way way above face value for this one. So if you’re interested in that game, sorry. People are still going to see the Chicago Bulls opponents.
However, let’s look at some other home dates:
December 2nd versus the New Orleans Pelicans. (Formerly the Hornets just in case you haven’t heard of them) tickets are as low as $17. There’s dozens upon dozens upon dozens of tickets available for under $22. The cheapest ticket on the Chicago Bulls website for the cheapest games is $38. To actually be able to see anything, if relegated to the 300 level, is $70. And only for the cheapest games.
There are some tickets behind the baseline on the floor level available for $66. The Chicago Bulls versus the powerhouse megabrand Milwaukee Bucks on December 10th has over 3,100 tickets available on Stub Hub, starting from $15. The Chicago Bulls versus the Orlando Magic on the 16th has about 3,000 tickets available as well. Some as low as $14. So what have we learned? Chicago Bulls tickets are getting dirt cheap in the post Derrick Rose 2013-14 regular season.
