Every time the Chicago Cubs begin a new home stand, the club sends out a release listing all the promotions, breads and circuses, and celebrity guests that will be a part of it. It’s always fun to peruse through the list of “who’s throwing out the first ball and/or singing the stretch this time around.

Scanning the email blast for new, zany food items and interesting game giveaways is usually a fascinating undertaking. Mila Kunis was no doubt the highlight, last time around.
This time, former Olympic superstar Nastia Liukin and the real life man who plays legendary television character Ron Swanson are both coming to town.

Yes, Nick Offerman, the well known Cubs fan who you’ve seen on “Parks and Recreation” telling us “clear alcohols are for rich widows on diets” and in that crosstown rivalry spot with White Sox fan Craig Robinson will be in the house.

The home stand begins tonight with actors David Eigenberg and Christian Stolte from NBC’s “Chicago Fire” will lead the stretch on the same night of the show’s season finale, which will feature guest appearances by Cubs players Jake Arrieta and Kris Bryant.

Actor, comedian, producer and unfortunate disgraceful mascot of Chicago Jim Belushi will throw a first pitch and lead the stretch Thursday, May 18 against the Cincinnati Reds.

YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!

Take the required actions as necessary to avoid this talentless waste of space!

On Friday, May 19, actor, comedian and producer Nick Offerman will throw a first pitch and lead the stretch against the Milwaukee Brewers.
