Jurgen Klopp to make sure Liverpool has quiet transfer window

If true, this is really really disappointing, and could prelude something boring. Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp claims that his side won’t be making any transfer moves in the winter window. This could be posturing and bluffing; Klopp wouldn’t want to drive up the price of any targets on himself.

Or it could be for real- I guess we’ll find out in January.

Quoting a Daily Mirror story today:

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reluctant to make ANY signings in the January window – despite being offered funds to bring in new players by his American owners.

Mirror Sport understands the Reds boss has not even requested a sit down with his Fenway Sports Group bosses to talk about potential targets.

That is right in line with what Jurgen Klopp just said on December 11th.

“I don’t feel we have to look at other people just because they cost £20 million,” the German explained.

“It’s much more important to work with people and if you trust them they have to feel it — and not just for two days but for a longer time.”

“That’s not how the world should run. If we have problems it’s not with quality, it’s maybe with concentration or other things. But we don’t know if players we get will do it better. I’d give the advice to stay cool and see what happens.”

Liverpool are still alive in both Europa League and League Cup, so when you combine these two tournaments with the Premier League season, it’s quite a workload to contend with there. Yet Jurgen Klopp is not looking to add to his side.

“If we need something we will do it, not talk about it before. In this moment I don’t think about it. No one should be in doubt that we are prepared for any situation. We have 24 hours always at work.

“We always watch players on video but if we take them in winter, in summer or never I don’t know at this moment.”
