Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp is pretty psyched for the Reds matchup against arch-rival Manchester United tomorrow night. When two rivals like this meet, emotions will be very high on both sides.
“Everybody needs to be in the best shape and the crowd is involved. I believe in the influence of the crowd,” the Liverpool boss said at his pre-match press conference.
“We do it for ourselves but we also do it for them. We can show we can create a better atmosphere in the first leg than Man United in the second leg.”
“It’s a big part of football. Hopefully tomorrow we set an absolutely new level.”
“Games like this are the mother of all football games and that’s what you want,” Jurgen Klopp continued. “We all love football. In each and every region of the world you have games like this. Maybe not with as big names.”
“Liverpool versus United one of best I can imagine. For me to be a part of it I still can’t get enough. It’s the best thing imaginable.”
The two most successful clubs in the history of English football will meet in European competition for the very first time. Fittingly, the stakes are quite high. It’s a round of 16 clash with the winner advancing towards the chance to be crowned Europa League champion, and this earn their spot back into the big boy tournament for next year.
Considering that both of these two fallen heavyweights are way on the outside looking in, it’s really their only shot back into the European Cup. Still Jurgen Klopp is psyched; you should be too.
