Chicago Blackhawks record streak to 22! Beat rival Red Wings

The Chicago Blackhawks record setting streak runs to 22! The Blackhawks record for points starting a season is there’s and there’s alone now with the overall points streak in sight now. With a 2-1 road shootout win over the hated Detroit Red Wings, they’re now 19-0-3 on the young season. Actually, it’s not so young anymore, almost halfway through and no losses? AMAZING. Patrick Kane “Kaner” had the game winner.

The Blackhawks record broke the 2006-2007 Anaheim Ducks, who started 12-0-4 and went on to win the Stanley Cup that year. The Blackhawks record is impressive, but remember an #8 seed L.A. Kings won the Stanley Cup last year. #8s beat #1 all the time.

“It’s a remarkable start,” coach Joel Quenneville said. “We’re very happy and pleased. Guys should be proud of the achievement and where they’re at, especially in a 48-game season. It’s put us in a real good spot.”

A concern for Chicago coming into the season was their goaltending. However, starting goaltender Corey Crawford is among the best qualified goaltenders in save percentage.  Backup goalie Ray Emery has had some nights where he’s stood on his head.

The NHL has been in business since 1917, and no team has ever had a start this hot. The Blackhawks record is impressive, but it’s come versus pretty much the Western Conference. Let’s see how they do versus the East. Is this amazing Blackhawks record a sign of things to come? Like a repeat of the 2010 Stanley Cup run.

Like I said before, seeding means little in the NHL playoffs. More than any other sport, upsets happen all the time.
