Mauricio Pochettino being heavily recruited by Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the clear favorite to take over at Tottenham Hotspur. Previous Tottenham transfer rumors have placed Frank de Boer as the favorite to become Spurs boss, but now the momentum has shifted to Pochettino. According to the Daily Star, Sherwood was sacked after top stars told chairman Daniel Levy: “Either he goes – or we do.”

And now this Sunday, they have a new exclusive about the extensive recruiting efforts Spurs are supposedly putting forth to sign Pochettino.

From the Daily Star:Southampton are fighting to keep their Argentinian manager, 42.But Spurs have decided the former Espanyol coach is the man they want to take over from Tim Sherwood – and are confident they’ll get him.

Pochettino has one year remaining on his deal with the Saints, who are ready to extend his agreement both in length and financially.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, however, is determined to secure his target on a £3.5 million-a-year contract.

NBC’s broadcast team recently did a conference call wrapping up the season. Rebecca Lowe, Arlo White and Coordinating Producer Pierre Moossa discussed numerous Premier League topics. Said Rebecca Lowe: “Who is going to be the manager of Tottenham? That’s massive.”

Chairman Daniel Levy seeks to put a more experienced man at the helm of his side.  Mauricio Pochettino is Tottenham’s number one choice, according to both the Daily Star and the Daily Express. Pochettino would consider an approach from Tottenham, but Southampton have opened talks with the Argentinian aimed at persuading him to stay at St Mary’s. (according to The Guardian)

It will be interesting to see if Mauricio Pochettino comes to fruition or not at White Hart Lane.
