Doing a world football power rankings is quite the ambitious project. There are so many leagues to watch and analyze, but as you would expect the top ten would always be all Europe.
Shaka Hislop of ESPN FC releases a power rankings almost every week, and Tottenham Hotspur is rocketing up the pop chart like crazy right now.
Tottenham Hotspur finally found their way into the power rankings three weeks ago, checking in at #10. Then moved up two weeks ago to #9. Last week they were #8.
Here’s the link to last week’s rankings. This week, Spurs shot up like a rocket, two spots to #6.
In keeping with Spurs and the global power rankings theme, Danish sensation Christian Eriksen also qualified for an ESPN FC Global Power rankings, on the individual side. Check that all out here at this link.
Without further ado, here is the link to the Hislop, ESPN FC power rankings. Manchester City have now dropped out. Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur are the only two Premier League clubs in the power rankings.
Bayern Munich are #2 (they were also second last week) and Barcelona remain first.
Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and Juventus round out the top five. The four teams below Spurs are Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City. While the Foxes are ahead of Spurs in the table, they’re below Tottenham in the power rankings.
