Tottenham Star Danny Rose a Manchester United January Transfer Target

Danny Rose was targeted by Manchester United this past summer, but perhaps the winter window will see the transaction  actually finalized and executed. United will be back in for the 27-year-old Tottenham Hotspur defender according to a report in Italy that the media in the English speaking world has now picked up on.

NBC Sports has the gossip, referencing an Italian media outlet, and also positing how and why Danny Rose to United would make sense for both parties, their post states:

“With Ben Davies filing in ably for Rose over the past six months, that could persuade Daniel Levy to cash in on another full back if United offer over $60 million for the 27-year-old. Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb say Jose Mourinho will come in with a fresh bid for Rose in January after missing out on him in the summer.”

Danny Rose leaving Tottenham Hotspur is a narrative that’s not going away, ever since his refreshingly blunt, but also overly critical assessment of the team’s transfer practices (up to that point anyway), this past summer essentially put him on the trading block. In addition to the instructing his own team to splash the cash comments he also publicly discussed getting “paid what he deserves” at the start of this season.

So how likely is it that the currently injured English left back moves to Old Trafford in the near future?

Well, ESPN FC rates the realism of a few transfer rumors, and they gave Danny Rose to Old Trafford a 3.2/5. The publication writes that: “United boss Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen on signing a quality left-back, with doubts remaining over the long-term future of Luke Shaw.”
