Overall, Manchester United have had a resounding edge in their series against Tottenham Hotspur, but the north London side has certainly had the upper hand lately. In the 53 previous meetings in Premier League play, United have won 33 times while the Spurs have only won nine. (Obviously, the other 11 games were draws).

Despite those numbers, Spurs are favored in the weekend’s headliner clash and with good reason. They easily look like the best of of the rest, after Liverpool and Manchester City, in the England top flight this season. Spurs have also emerged victorious in three of the last four against the Red Devils, absolutely crushing them 3-0 at Old Trafford in August.

That game may have been the one in which we kind of new that United manager Jose Mourinho wasn’t going to survive the season. And now the man on the other touchline tomorrow, Mauricio Pochettino, could be the favorite to replace him long term.
