Happy summer transfer window deadline day everybody! Tottenham Hotspur are one of the teams to watch as this deadline day comes to an end, as they are extremely busy here in the 11th hour. There is good news and bad news- it looks like Giovani Lo Celso is going to happen, but Paulo Dybala will not.

First, in regards to the Real Betis midfielder, Sky Sports reports that he’s in London today to undergo his medical and complete his move to Spurs. The 25-year-old will reportedly sign a five year deal with his new team.

According to ESPN FC, the deal will be worth £65 million, and if you’re scoring at home that’s a club record for a transfer fee! The old record didn’t last very long at all, as it was just set at the beginning of last month (Tanguy Ndombele, £63 million).

Now on to the one that got away- Juventus forward Paulo Dyabala. The Argentine had been lined up for a big money move to Spurs, but according to NBC Sports:

Sky Italy are saying that Juve will not allow him to leave as they haven’t got a replacement for him lined up, while other reports suggest the deal is too complicated for Spurs to complete due to image rights.

This is the second time he’s seen a potential move to the Premier League break down this summer as he was heavily speculated to in a swap deal to Manchester United for Romelu Lukaku.

There is also some talk of Spurs landing Fulham whiz kid Ryan Sessegnon, so we’ll keep you updated on that.
