As we commence the 2017-18 Premier League season tonight, it’s time to celebrate another end to an offseason. Manchester United host West Ham United in a game that the media are naturally treating as the Chicharito Cup. Go to this link for the match preview, injury report, odds and more.

Ashley Young, Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw, all have long term injuries, and are probably not available for selection. We say probably because when United manager Jose Mourinho gives his news conference tomorrow, the status updates might have changed for at least one of them.

It remains to be seen what formation United manager Jose Mourinho goes with- the usual 4-2-3-1? What about playing a 3-5-2? How many defenders, and will there be a wing back formation?

Enough guessing games, let’s just get to the Man United Starting XI prediction for the season opener vs West Ham. This is of course given Mourinho goes with a 4-3-3 formation instead.

Marcus Rashford          Romelu Lukaku           Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Ander Herrera    Paul Pogba     Nemanja Matic

Matteo Darmian       Eric Bailly       Victor Lindelof     Antonio Valencia

 David de Gea

Prediction: Man United 2, West Ham 1
