Nemanja Matic Linked with January Exit from Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has been frozen out by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, having not seen action since October 3rd. Under Jose Mourinho, it was a totally different story, as he was essentially manager Jose Mourinho’s manager on the pitch during the high point of The Special One’s time at Old Trafford.

The £35 million signing from Chelsea in 2017 has seen his status drop way down low on the depth chart, and naturally wants out to a destination where he could get regular first team football. According to The Telegraph, Solskjaer would sanction his exit, provided he can secure a replacement.

The Serbian might see more playing time in the near term now though, as Scott McTominay could be out for a few weeks; coupled with Paul Pogba definitely out of commission until December. Thus, the opportunities will be there for him to showcase his skill set for his next side.

According to Metro, both of the clubs in Milan are keen on Matic, while 90 Min links him to a stay in the Premier League, with West Ham United.  The 30-year-old is currently ruled out of Serbia’s upcoming matches against Montenegro and Romania this international break; due to a mysterious, unspecified injury. Perhaps Matic can get right again, and find the same distributor/table setter touch that he once had at United.
