Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has seen a horrendous drop in form this season, and thus a relegation to the bench. For both club and country he’s been dropped.

There’s talk that Jose Mourinho would like to see him shipped out of Old Trafford in the future. With Rooney’s huge salary, there’s probably really only two places he could go where he could make that kind of money, and still see consistent first team football- American Major League Soccer or Chinese SuperLeague.

We’ve already explored the MLS idea in detail over this link. It appears Rooney doesn’t have any interest in going to the USA or China, he apparently wants to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place.

Beijing Guoan chairman Luo Ning revealed today: “We indeed made an approach for Rooney at the beginning of the season but he’s informed us that he wants to stay in Manchester United.

“Rooney says he’ll keep playing in the Premier League as long as his health allows. We even met with his agent.”

Rooney has also previously said that he does not envision himself playing for any Premier League club other than United or his boyhood club Everton going forward.
