Once again it was David de Gea and Wayne Rooney who propelled Manchester United to a huge victory in their major rivalry grudge match. United beat Liverpool 1-0 today at Anfield, getting a another clean sheet from David de Gea and a goal from Wayne Rooney.
What a performance by Rooney as of late. He scored again today 78′; giving him five goals in his last four games.
De Gea took home the man of the match award (4 saves), but Rooney was right up there in contention. The United and England National Team Captain broke a new record today- he now has more goals (176) at any one club than any player in history. Have a watch below at their post game interview:
United moved up to fifth place in the Premier League table. So the Top 4 is still in reach. Manager Louis van Gaal has now won all four of his meetings with Liverpool.
