Right back is one of the many positions where Manchester United very much need to upgrade this summer transfer window. Defense is the weakest link in this United side, but problems abound overall. Crystal Palace RB Aaron Wan-Bassaka could be the man that helps plug this specific hole, but he won’t come cheap.
That price tag is £60 million, according to Metro, who write that the Eagles: “are desperate to keep hold of the right-back and are in a strong position given he has three years to run on his contract at Selhurst Park.”
That amount is apparently well above what United is really willing to pay, and that seems to be exactly what the south London club wants. As the Daily Mail reports, “Palace, who fear losing Wilfried Zaha, are determined not to lose both of their star assets in the same window.”
It’s a long summer transfer window, and we’ve only just begun. The Aaron Wan-Bassaka transfer saga is certainly one that could take several twists and turns before it actually comes to conclusion. And before United look to upgrade the full backs, it’s much more important that they finally fix the mess in central defense.
