Manchester United paid a very pretty penny, and endured an extremely tedious transfer saga to sign Bryan Mbeumo away from Brentford FC. Now the question remains- where will manager Ruben Amorim slot him in?
We expect that he’ll fill in on the left or the right in a No. 10 role, with the other summer transfer window signing, Matheus Cunha, slotting in on the other side. However, we should not expect to see him feature in this clash on Wednesday night.

Amorim did not play Mbeumo on Saturday night in the Meadowlands, and he said that we won’t see him until the Premier League Summer Series finale in Atlanta next weekend.
Beyond Mbeumo, there is really no availability news to cover for this match. So, in order to get your money’s worth from clicking on this Team News article, you can read the following articles (if you haven’t already) that emerged from Amorim and Matheus Cunha’s Chicago press conference on Friday.
They are linked here: Amorim re-opening the door for his four cast out players, Amorim on the role that Luke Shaw could have this season, Cunha on how it’s a privilege, not pressure, to be tasked with scoring goals for United and the latest on Harry Maguire’s status.
Shifting gears to the Cherries, Djorde Petrovic was brought over from Chelsea (although he spent last season out on loan at Strasbourg) this summer to earn the new No. 1 goalkeeper position.
The Serbian is very familiar with playing in the United States, as he was with the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer for 2022-23.
He has been shifting teams a lot, in recent years, so maybe he can finally put down some roots here with the south coast club?
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola discussed Petrovic on Friday at Soldier Field:
“I know he was very good here in the MLS, but even two years ago playing for Chelsea, I think he was really solid, so we just want him to be comfortable and give the level that we know
he has.”
