Manchester United goal keeper David De Gea may no longer be the back-up goalkeeper to Iker Casillas for Spain moving forward. And if you witnessed Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben and The Netherlands absolutely destroying Spain/Casillas in the opening match of the World Cup, you’ll understand why. Louis van Gaal’s Dutch side put up five goals on the defending champs in that match, and perhaps it is the beginning of a shift towards De Gea instead.
David de Gea was praised by his Manager after his first senior international start – and he could be the starter again in Spain’s Euro 2016.

Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque admits David De Gea is in with a chance of displacing Iker Casillas ahead of Spain’s European Championship qualifying campaign.
De Gea, 23, made his first start for the senior team in Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to France in Paris.
Spain start their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign against Macedonia in Valencia on Monday.
And Del Bosque revealed he is yet to decide who will be his No.1.
He said: “It was important to give De Gea playing time and it was a very good performance by him.
“We will see if Iker (Casillas) will play in goal on Monday.”
