David de Gea is a top trending term on social media right now as his 11 second half saves at Tottenham Hotspur inspired awe and admiration among football fans worldwide. The Manchester United goalkeeper earned the man of the match award as his side won 1-0 at Wembley Stadium, and his 11 saves are the most in a single game for a Premier League goalkeeper this season.
His 14 saves at Arsenal last season were also the most in a single game for a PL keeper last season. This is the first win against a big six rival for United this season, and the victory gave interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer six wins in six marches since he took over.

No United manager, not Sir Matt Busby, not Sir Alex Ferguson, has ever achieved that.
“The players are playing very well, the team is strong now,” De Gea said after the game. “This is the real Man United.”
The only scoring in the game came via an absolutely stunning pass from Paul Pogba to Marcus Rashford, who converted the finish. However, the real hero here was obviously De Gea, who stood on his head this Sunday. His performance was absolutely unreal, and you’re simply not going to ever beat United on a day when he plays like this.
The Twitterverse greatly admired the Spaniard’s performance, and here are some of the more interesting and compelling Tweets illustrating as such.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a keeper make more saves with his feet than David de Gea. Ridiculously quick reactions.

I see a lot of people saying all De Gea saves were straight at him, please factor in that the guy has some mad sense to know where to be at just the right time, you can’t teach that. Proper goally ?
