Happy international break Manchester United supporters. The Red Devils will be out of action until November 24th, when they’ll resume their Premier League season with a visit to Sheffield United. Then it won’t be long until festive period fixture congestion ensues.
So let’s take a look at what is currently making the internet rounds, in the world of MUFC, on this Friday. For part two of our MUFC Friday news and notes, go to this link. Have you ever wanted confirmation on where the pace really is on United? Who are the fleetest of feet of the Red Devils players?
It’s Marcus Rashford and Dan James actually.
According to the stats, reported by the Manchester Evening News, Rashford had the quickest burst, against Crystal Palace while James was second, in the win over Leicester City. All of the 10 fastest, were recorded by either Rashford or James.
Elsewhere midfielder Scott McTominay is out of Scotland’s fixtures against Cyprus and Kazakhstan this international break, due to the ankle injury he suffered in United’s win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
He underwent a scan early this week, but the club did not reveal the results. Meanwhile there have been reports stating that McTominay will be out of action for four weeks. Today the Scottish international provided an update, of sorts (kind of) writing “On a serious note I’m working hard to be back on the pitch as soon as possible.. Thank you for the support” on his Instagram account. (h/t Team Talk)
He didn’t get into specifics of the injury nor give a time table.
Finally, central defender Harry Maguire, while on international duty with England, says the club is focused on Euro qualifying, not distracted by the Raheem Sterling-Joe Gomez incident on Monday.
