Liverpool FC are without both their first and second choice left backs for the foreseeable future as both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are long-term injury absentees. Friday saw Reds boss Jurgen Klopp provide an update on Robertson, the LB1 who has been out since the October international break, when he suffered a shoulder injury while playing for Scotland.
The injury required surgical repair, thus making the recovery timeline all the more longer.

Liverpool Team News
Klopp said at his weekly presser today that we won’t see Robertson until February at the earliest.
“Robbo still needs more range in his shoulder. [He’s] still not even close to team training,” the German told the media today.
“[He] can do a lot, everything without using the arm properly which is good but on the other side, shows we still a long way to go. For sure I think [he’ll miss] the full January. He has to get closer and closer.”
The news is better for midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, who may be passed fit to feature against Newcastle.
Klopp said:
“We will see what he can do today, whether he can step into team training or not. The decision is not done, it’s pretty early so we will see.”
