On the eve of the UEFA Champions League Final, Cristiano Ronaldo says that he doesn’t see any comparison between himself and Mohamed Salah. Both are high scoring wingers and the biggest star of their respective sides, who will clash tomorrow night in Kiev, as Liverpool battle Real Madrid for the UCL title.
Ronaldo and Salah are Ballon d’Or candidates, both currently playing at the top of their game. While Salah has only really broken out this season, CR7 has been playing at the elite of the elite level for a few years already. Their goal totals this season are almost identical as well. Across all competitions, Salah has 44 scoring strikes this season, compared to Ronaldo’s 43.

It’s only natural that people compare the two galacticos, but Ronaldo doesn’t see it that way. The Portugese was quick to point out how he’s nearly half a foot taller, and that he lines up on the opposite site of the formation.
“People want to compare me with other players, I am different to everyone. Salah is different to everyone. So we are different,” Ronaldo told game broadcast rights holder BT Sport.
“He plays with the left, I play with the right, I’m tall, he’s a little bit shorter. I play with my head, you know — we are completely different. But I have to say he has had a fantastic season, but Saturday, let’s see.”
Yes, Saturday will indeed be one of the most anticipated finals in recent memory. Real are going for their 13th European Cup, while the Reds are seeking their sixth.
Odds: Real Madrid 4/6, Liverpool 6/5
