The Anfield renovation plans have now been revealed by Liverpool FC. The Merseyside club could boost capacity at their home stadium of 112 years to as much as 59,000 seats. And to lead this rehabilitation project, they will use a reputable stadia fit out company for the logistics.

Perhaps the Anfield cat, pictured above and below will return someday to the new and fully revamped Merseyside venue?

This cat will never walk alone.

It’s exciting times for Liverpool as Soccer Power Index gives them an 85% chance of finishing the season with a Premier League title. And Anfield’s redevelopment could add an additional 8,500 seats in the Main Stand, bringing capacity to nearly 21,000.

Overall Anfield capacity could expand to around 54,000 in phase 1. The 59,000 I quoted earlier would be down line. The Anfield Road Stand could see an increase of about 4,800 seats.

Here’s more on the Anfield expansion from Football 365:

The Reds announced in October 2012 that rather than move to a new stadium, they would prefer to redevelop Anfield and would work with Liverpool City Council to transform the surrounding area through a comprehensive regeneration plan.

Detailed proposals for an expansion of the Main Stand and outline proposals for an expansion of the Anfield Road Stand will be on show at exhibitions and a public consultation scheduled for this week.

The exhibition shows detailed design proposals for the proposed Main Stand redevelopment which include a newly-created public concourse and a carefully designed cloister which will become the new home for the Hillsborough Memorial.
