Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri insists that the club do not want to “kill” goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga over what happened on Sunday, and he believes that the situation has now been dealt with sufficiently. CFC announced their decision on Tuesday to fine the goalkeeper one week’s wages, for his refusing to come out of the EFL Cup final, when Sarri tried to substitute him.
Sarri maintains that the incident was just a big misunderstanding, while Kepa has issued a very long public apology. However, Sarri has said that he has not yet decided if Kepa will play or not tomorrow night.
