With then 2017-18 season complete, the summer offseason is now here for Arsenal. The Gunners won’t be reunited again until training camp in July. However, it’s going to be a very busy summer, and an exciting transfer window at the Emirates, with a whole lot of topics to discuss.
Today is obviously a very busy news day, so let’s take a spin through the headlines.
It hasn’t been made official by the club as of yet, but yesterday we learned that former Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery, not Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta or Belgium assistant Thierry Henry, will become the next Arsenal manager and Arsene Wenger’s successor.
Forbes has an excellent article today analyzing the hire, while The Guardian also gives a phenomenal take on this move.
-Arsenal officially said goodbye to long serving and injury riddled midfielder Santi Cazorla; as his contract with the club has now expired.
Sadly, Cazorla hasn’t played a match for the Gunners since suffering a gruesome Achilles injury in October of 2016. One of the best players of the Emirates era, Cazorla gave his farewell to the club’s official website:
Hola Arsenal fans.I am sad to be leaving after so many great times. I have loved my time with the club and will always remember the special moments we had together.YouHave always given me special support and I will miss you.Thank you everyone https://t.co/ftOWeAM3mN

-Tuesday saw sportswear maker Puma, in conjunction with the club, released 2018-2019 home kit.
It features a red and white shirt with a theme designed to symbolize “the heartbeat” of the club. The predominantly red shirt has white sleeves, and white across the shoulders and clavicle era. White is also the color of the shorts and the socks.
