Alex Morgan is back! Yes, the face of U.S. Women’s soccer stars in a promo for the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada. The video below does sound quite a bit like a promo for a Bruce Willis action flick, but it’s still pretty awesome.
Alex Morgan, recovering from injury at the time, joined the FOX Sports’ soccer studio team as a guest analyst for the Women’s World Cup draw show on December 6th. She’s healthy now though.
The commercial, entitled “It’s not Over” premiered during FOX’s airing of the Daytona 500 and it features Jermaine Jones from the USMNT. On the women’s side it features Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, Carli Lloyd and several other USWNT members.
The spot, embedded below, marks 100 days until the World Cup begins. FOX Sports created it to promote their coverage of the tournament.

Remember that mid to late July of 2011 when our entire nation was captivated by the USWNT? Well, it’s about to happen again this summer. We’re all going to be focused on America’s Sweethearts, the pride of a nation: Alex Morgan, Hope Solo, Abby Wambach, Sydney Leroux and company.
And although we’ll be similarly captivated, this time we have a protagonist and an antagonist on the same team. Alex Morgan is the good girl, every marketer’s dream who spoke up against the malfeasance of FIFA, while Hope Solo is such a train wreck that many legitimately wonder if she can or should even stay on the team.
It’s amazing how much has changed in this regard the past four years.
Last time, Alex Morgan and Hope Solo were both heroes, on par with Wambach as the faces of the USWNT franchise. This summer, Morgan and Wambach will still be revered while Solo will be despised. She has no one but herself to blame for that.
So all of this is in fact unfolding like a summer blockbuster dramatic film; which makes the video quite apt.
