Like a late ’90s hip-hop artist, the Purdue linebacking corps is all about the Bentley.
That would be senior LB Ja’Whaun Bentley, who was with fifth on the team in tackles last season, despite missing three games due to injury. Sophomore Markus Bailey is the unit’s best player, and the greatest talent, but Bentley is the unit’s senior leader and thus the guy selected to attend B1G Media Days.
During the podium sessions at B1G Media Day Ja’Whaun Bentley discussed going against the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Lamar Jackson and Louisville. The Boilermakers kick off the season with a “second home” game at Lucas Oil Stadium against Jackson and the Cardinals.
“Under the lights, what more could you ask for? We’re going to be laser focused,” Bentley said. He also covered a whole host of other topics during his session, which is embedded below.
