Liverpool Football Club will be at Notre Dame Stadium to face Borussia Dortmund tomorrow night to kick-off the club’s three stop pre-season exhibition tour of the United States. Later today, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will address the media at the University of Notre Dame, in South Bend, Indiana, ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against his former club.

The LFC tour also includes stops at Fenway Park in Boston (versus Sevilla on Sunday) and Yankee Stadium in New York (versus Sporting Lisbon next Wednesday). Here are some of the news and notes circulating in the LFC online community as the start of the USA tour is now here.

Manager Jurgen Klopp was asked again about the summer transfer window, and again he threw cold water all over the idea of making any real news on this front between now and deadline day.

“We are pretty relaxed in that, we will see what’s coming up,” he told the club website. “How I said, it will not be the biggest transfer window of LFC; we invested a lot in the team in the last two years, I would say. We cannot spend every year in the same manner.”

“People talk about it like, ‘Now another £300m or £200m’. There are maybe only two clubs in the world – it looks in the moment like Barcelona and [Real] Madrid can do the same – City and PSG that can do it every year…On the outgoing side, we are relaxed. The young boys are here and enjoyed working with us a lot. Not to forget Naby and Shaq are injured still and are not here with us.”

“Players will come back.”

Elsewhere, there is a lot of extreme weather currently moving through the midwestern United States. Lightning, thunderstorms and heavy rains battered the region, delaying the start of the LFC Women vs. Cleveland Ambassadors match, on Notre Dame Soccer Pitch 2.

And finally, the biggest of the LFC big wigs have been making the rounds on the public appearance front in both South Bend and Chicago.

CEO Peter Moore and COO Billy Hogan toured the Notre Dame football facilities, and took this awesome photo with the iconic “Play like a champion”sign that leads to the field from the ND locker room. Also, Moore appeared at a fan event staged at A.J. Hudson’s in the north center neighborhood of Chicago.

It’s the pub that serves as the LFC supporter headquarters in America’s third largest city.
