Regime change has begun at Penn State. Bill O’Brien from the New England Patriots is taking over and cleaning house

Jay Paterno is leaving the Penn St coaching staff after 17 years as an assistant under his father, the once legendary but now disgraced Joe Paterno.

For the past 12 years, Paterno the younger worked as the quarterbacks coach.

Breaking: Former PSU President Graham Spanier knew of Sandusky investigation months ahead of his arrest.

In a statement, Jay Paterno said he spoke with O’Brien and that the two “reached the conclusion” he would not be part of the new staff. He said he would spend the next few weeks consulting his wife and family about options both inside and outside of football. (h/t NBC 10 Philadelphia, The Big Lead)

In the wake of Jerry Sandusky, you got to start all over again clean.

In order to wipe the slate clean, you just can’t have a Paterno on staff. And if you look at the numbers put up by the QBs this year, Matt McGloin (54% completion percentage, 8 TD, 5 INT, 6.YPA) and Rob Bolden (39% completion, 2 TD, 7 INT, 5.1 YPA) there’s absolutely no reason to keep Jay Paterno around, at all.
