Illini opponent Miami of Ohio: LAUGH at their fun bad statistics

Before this week, I knew little about Miami Of Ohio University. The MAC school has a reputation of being a hard core party school for ultra-rich kids and one of my exes said she was called a “Yankee sellout” by her Southern friends when she choose to attend Miami of Ohio. Of course, she was an Atlanta debutante, so let’s not give her opinion all that much credence.

Miami of Ohio also produced Ben Roethlisberger, and a ton of big name college football coaches. They have tradition, and they’ve been a decent power in the Mid American Conference in recent years. Not in 2013.

When they head to Champaign to face the Illini this Saturday, you have to laugh at them. They’re not just bad. They are fun bad. Overall they are pathetic, and it’s funny.

The 0-3 Miami of Ohio Red Hawks have scored just 21 points TOTAL in three games.

The Red Hawks LEADING RUSHER on the season, Austin Gearing has 59 yards rushing on the season. That’s it. Although there is a guy right behind him has 58.

Miami of Ohio QB Austin Boucher has one TD pass on the season. He has 268 total passing yards. No one else on the Red Hawks has attempted a pass.

Marshall beat them 52-14, Kentucky beat them 41-7 and Cincinnati (who the Illini beat 45-17) defeated them 14-0. So Miami of Ohio has been outscored 107-21 on the season. This is Illinois’ easiest game on the schedule by far. SIU was a bigger challenge than the Red Hawks. Maybe even Bye Week was a better opponent than Miami of Ohio
