The Clemson marching band certainly did not Clemson here. You know Clemsoning, the term defined by Urban Dictionary as the act of delivering an inexplicably disappointing performance, usually within the context of a college football season. Clemson did the opposite of Clemsoning here as the Clemson Marching Band performed a medley featuring the music of Nintendo’s 8-bit classics “Super Mario Bros.” and “The Legend of Zelda” at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Back in 2010 I heard the Notre Dame Marching Band perform the Zelda theme songs at halftime versus Pitt. But they didn’t have the formations like Clemson does here. College marching bands are getting pretty awesome; coming up with newer and better acts. The Clemson NES bit is cool. However, it still doesn’t reach the Ohio State Jurassic Park show. THAT was really cool! Especially when the dinosaur “eats” the Band Leader and spits out at hat I embedded that video at the end for you
And yes, I know, I know they people speaking Polish in the Clemson video takes away from the experience of watching it. But it’s the best one I could find. Another Clemson video I found had some drunken sounding goober giggling like Beavis and Butthead over the whole thing.
