The first Purdue Boilermakers exhibition game of the 2011-12 college basketball season is set for the day after Halloween. Therefore, the athletic department is encouraging hoops fans to retain Halloween costumes for one more day and wear them to Mackey Arena on November 1st, when the Boilermakers take on Northern State.
I predict that when the crowd shows up you’ll think “wow I didn’t know Purdue had such a large naughty nursing school within the university.”
The Big Ten slaughter over a nothing opponent is slated to tip off at 7 p.m. ET and will be fans’ first look at the 2011-12 Boilermakers. Purdue will take a huge step backwards this year from a really good team that went 16-0 at home last season and currently has a 17-game home court winning streak. The Boilers return senior forward Robbie Hummel back from injury (yes, yet again). So it’ll be interesting to see him back in action and how he looks after convalescing from the ACL.
