“It all comes down to our other brother, Benjamin franklin,” said Chicago Bears Tight End Martellus Bennett in regards to the hopes of Chicago signing his brother Michael Bennett away from the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks.

“The Benjis talk, I can only do so much by talking to him, at the end of the day you got to show him the money,” Martellus continued during his media availability at the Comcast SportsNet Awards Sports Awards last night.

Indeed socioeconomic theorist P. Diddy, then known as Puff Daddy, was correct when he told us in 1998 that “It’s all about the Benjamins.”

As you no doubt know, the Bears need some help on defense. Especially at the position that Michael Bennett plays, so Martellus Bennett, who was honored by CSN Chicago as Bear of the Year, last night is doing whatever he can to bring his brother to Chicago.

“I’m in his ear, but I won’t start recruiting him hard until the Seahawks don’t re-sign him. I think the Seahawks are a great fit for him, they’re a great organization, the game I went to they treated me with so much class, but if they let him slide away I’m going to try and bring him over to the Bears,” Martellus said.

So other than that, how is the 2014 NFL off-season going Martellus?

“It’s going great, I’m getting sexier and sexier everyday, it feels good.”

Martellus Bennett also said last night that Michael Sam would be welcomed on the Bears, provided that he can play. There was also some discussion of Michael Sam’s draft stock and how his recent coming out might affect it.
