San Jose Sharks loan Blackhawks legend Adam Burish to Wolves

When Adam Burish was in Chicago, he was the best sports soundbite in the city. Unfortunately, the rock star from the 2010 Stanley Cup Champions had to leave as he was made part of the Hawks’ summer yard sale that followed capturing the Cup. It was a ten player sell-off of 1992 San Diego Padres proportions.

However, Burish is back in The Chi now.

The Chicago Wolves announced today that they have acquired Adam Burish via loan from the San Jose Sharks (NHL). As part of the transaction, the St. Louis Blues (NHL) have recalled Wolves forward John
McCarthy and loaned him to Worcester (AHL).

The former Wisconsin Badgers captain, NCAA champion and Stanley Cup Champion has strong Midwest roots, as he hails from Madison, Wisconsin.

During his time in Chicago, Adam Burish was known for having remarkable charisma and being extremely entertaining and interesting with the media. And being a lady killer as well.

His hilarious comments, about hockey groupies, during his appearance on a Hawks Fan Convention panel, is classic stuff. Especially so in today’s corporatized and vanilla sports media availability sessions. And perhaps no organization, in all of sports, seeks to turn their players into PRspeak drones as much as the Hawks.

Adam Burish played in 32 Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Blackhawks. He made 15 postseason appearances for the 2010 Stanley Cup champions and now joins former teammates Brent Sopel, Colin Fraser, and Ben Eager on the Chicago Wolves roster.
