This summer preseason, Tottenham Hotspur are dealing with a whole host of injuries. Hey, the more things change, the more they stay the same. It’s a very long list, as usual, so let’s get straight into it. The good news is that some of the issues are very minor. Mateus Fernandes (calf fatigue) and James Maddison (knock suffered in training) missed out on the win over Chelsea Down Under last weekend, and are thus doubtful for this Saturday’s clash against Getafe.
They may not be risked in the preseason practice match, but should return relatively soon.

Another guy that may not be risked here, but is also close to full fitness is Micky van de Ven. He’s been back from post World Cup holiday leave, for awhile, but isn’t back to 90 minutes fully match fitness yet. Meanwhile Xavi Simons (knee) Wilson Odobert (ACL), Guglielmo Vicario (unspecified), Mo Kudus (thigh) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee) are all continuing their rehabilitation efforts.
Vicario is still working on his exit from the club this summer, at that makes sense, given how he’s the odd man out now in between the sticks.
