Jose Mourinho Subject of Social Media Schadenfreude as United Reach New Low

Manchester United have reached a new low, losing 3-1 at West Ham United, a side that came in to this one 17th in the table. While manager Jose Mourinho still claims his relationship with midfielder Paul Pogba is good, but he subbed the Frenchman off early after he put in a miserable, seemingly disinterested performance on the pitch.

The loss means that Mourinho has now seen his side take only 10 points from the first seven matches, or the same number as what they “achieved” in the first seven matches under David Moyes, in the one partial season that he was in charge.

Today’s disaster has of course led to talk about Mourinho experiencing “third season syndrome” and it has led to lots of talk that he could get the sack. Time will tell on that as he just received a vote of confidence from the board earlier this week.

For now, Mourinho and United are blowing up on Twitter and very much in a bad way. His name, the club’s name and the name of the club who just blew them out of the building, West Ham United, are all top trending terms internationally on Twitter right now.

Let’s take a look at some of the more eye-catching tweets.

#truth:

Hahahaha Pogba And Martial off! What a joke Mourinho is. Pisses me off to the absolute max.

Moving:

Absolutely hurting. I’ve placed belief in Mourinho just as I placed belief in van gaal and moyes but every supporter has a breaking point. I just reached mine later than others. Abuse me all you wish but I only ever want best for a club I’ve followed since I could say ‘Cantona’.

Funny:

When you spend the rest of your Saturday trying to figure out how McTom, Matic, Pogba and Fellaini can all start… #WHUMUN #MUFC pic.twitter.com/OceVSLM5AT

Mourinho has reportedly lost the dressing room, and he seems to be losing more and more loyal fans by the week:

I wanted Jose at United. I supported and backed Jose at United. Today this is on him. Strange line up. Lack of intensity. Team bereft of ideas. Not looking good. The end game is near…
