Eden Hazard and Chelsea will travel to Anfield to play Liverpool in the League Cup third round tomorrow night, before clashing again at Stamford Bridge in a Premier League fixture on Saturday. The contests match up the two sides who stayed perfect the longest in league play this season.
Both clubs are undefeated across all competitions this season.
“Next weekend we play Liverpool at home,” said Hazard, who maintains that team spirit remains high, in spite of the two dropped points at the London Stadium over the weekend.
“I hope we can keep this momentum and keep winning games.Everyone can score goals and create chances, so that’s why we have been good. We need to keep playing like this and we have confidence at the moment to do so.
“Liverpool is the kind of game where you want to shine, so we will I hope.”
Hazard’s form has been out of this world, for both club and country in 2018. His national team manager, Belgium boss Roberto Martinez, has recently said so, and challenged him to maintain it.
“I’ve seen Eden at a sensational level in the World Cup and he’s carried that on with Chelsea this season,” Martinez said.
“Eden has been involved in 26 goals in his last 26 games for the national team. That is world-class level. All we want is for him to carry on enjoying that football because with the talent he has you want to see that.”
“He has also brought some fantastic leadership to the national team.”
