Mohamed Salah Can Still Get Even Better Says Jurgen Klopp

Saturday was certainly newsworthy for Mohamed Salah as the past 24 hours have contained a substantial course of events for the Liverpool winger. First the Egyptian continued his dominating run of form, bagging a second half brace that earned the Reds a come from behind victory over Leicester City.

The two goals made his name a top trending term on social media, as he has now scored on assisted on 22 goals in his last games for Liverpool.

Then came the bad news, as the Egyptian has suffered an injury that makes his doubtful for Liverpool’s New Year’s Day clash at Burnley.

No further information is out there about his injury right now.

After the win today however, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hailed the skills and abilities of his scoring sensation. He also said that his best football could still be in front of him.

“Mo was fantastic with his dribbling and his vision. I couldn’t ask more from him,” Klopp said.

“Staying in the game is the real deal of football in this league but I am happy for Mo, I am happy for the team because this group is a fantastic group of players. It’s a good team performance and a well deserved win.”

When asked if Salah can keep up to the high standard he’s now set for himself, Klopp responded:

“Yes, he can keep that standard for sure. He’s still a young player, he can improve. It’s not only about scoring, it’s about other situations as well.”

“He’s so important for us, but he knows and I know he couldn’t score if he did not have the fantastic support of the other boys.”

“I think he can keep this standard, but that’s normal. All the boys can keep the standards they have in the moment. It’s not that it’s only a run or something. The boys show their quality and we did that already a few times.”

Liverpool defender James Milner added the following in regards to Salah:

“He keeps scoring and I’m running out of words to describe him. It’s important that we keep supporting him but not put too much pressure on him.”

If Salah is a go for Monday, he and the rest of the Reds will take on a Clarets team which is just seven points off the top four. Liverpool are currently in fourth place, four ahead of fifth place Tottenham. Burnley are just three points behind Arsenal for sixth.
