Scars, they’re a scarecrow for fools, and a signpost for the wise. So says United States Women’s National Team Goalkeeper Hope Solo. Solo also says scars are beautiful because they show us what a person has been through in their life. As someone with multiple scars scattered throughout his chest, I couldn’t agree with her more.
As I said during my recent CLTV segment previewing the Olympics, Hope Solo is a polarizing figure with a checkered past, but she does speak her mind and tell it like it is:
Whether it’s related to the Equal Play Equal Pay movement, or the litany of serious issues plaguing this Olympics (from public health calamities to the severe basic safety and security threats), Hope Solo does not hold back. She’s not just the world’s best goalkeeper, she’s also the team’s best sound bite.

The USWNT created a series of videos that blend animation and live action. They made one for each player on the roster. Solo’s is probably the most bad ass of all, and it’s embedded below for you to watch.
